Bay Harbor Islands is at a walking distance to the world renowned Bal Harbour Shops, beaches and several house of worship landmarks. Home to only 5000 residents, the town is able to offer superior service at all levels. The police is omnipresent days and nights providing an unparallel safe environment.

The town is divided in 2 islands. The East island is composed of mainly 2 story historic apartment buildings and a few low rise properties. The East Island has just started to be the object of low scale real estate developments, with only a very few selected luxury projects. Because of the limited number of units going up and its exceptional location, this area of Miami according to market analysts is immune to any downshifts in the real estate market.

The West island is home to luxury homes, ranging from $ 1,200,000 to $5,000,000 homes. The lowest priced homes usually average 2000 square feet in size with 2-3 bedrooms and in need of substantial renovation. The highest priced homes are large mansions from 6000 to 9000 square feet, usually of Mediterranean influence.

Carat is located on the East Island on 100th Street, a very quiet street surrounded by a few houses, town homes and 2 story apartment buildings.
